Ellsworth Released Mugshot Records
A booking photograph records appearance at a booking event. Release does not turn it into proof of guilt, sentence completion, or current status. The image also does not show why the person left custody. That answer comes from the sheriff release record, the court case, or a later KDOC record, depending on the custodian.
Source labels matter. The county booking photograph belongs to an Ellsworth County Sheriff booking. A KASPER image is a KDOC correctional image and may have been made at a different time. A news image might be a press photograph or reused file image. Calling all three the person’s “release mugshot” erases those distinctions.
Kansas records law contains a specific correctional-photo provision. K.S.A. 45-221(a)(29)(A) expressly includes a correctional photograph among listed disclosable correctional fields, subject to the statute and other legal protections. Every available channel has a different scope. Ellsworth County’s official sheriff page does not provide a photo search, so it cannot be used like a recent-release gallery. The official routes are a county request for the booking image and KASPER for a possible KDOC correctional image.

There is no documented recurring Ellsworth release-log publisher. A case-specific story may carry an image, but the story image does not prove release date, release reason, or present custody. Commercial mugshot publishers and removal vendors are not linked or endorsed.
No Ellsworth Mugshot Feed
The official sheriff page and its links were audited on July 18, 2026. No county roster, recent-release view, archive, booking-photo field, mobile app, or sheriff-owned social profile publishing mugshots was located. Generic share controls on the county page are not an agency social channel.
Search results can confuse Ellsworth County with Ellis County, Kansas. Those are different counties. An Ellis County app, roster, or feed must never be presented as an Ellsworth County Sheriff product. Third-party directories also did not establish an official window, update schedule, source fidelity, or photo archive.
The absence of a public gallery does not prove the sheriff holds no booking photograph. It means the official web page does not expose one. Ask the sheriff whether the named image exists and is disclosable. The Ellsworth releases in the last 24 hours page uses the same direct-call and records-request fallback because no official release feed exists.
Request Ellsworth Booking Photographs
For a county booking image, contact Ellsworth County Sheriff at 212 N. Kansas Ave., Ellsworth, KS 67439, 785-472-4416. The official page does not publish a records-custodian email, request form, records hours, or local fee schedule. Call first and ask where a written Kansas Open Records Act request should be directed.
- Identify one person and the approximate booking dates. Include the booking or case number if known.
- Ask specifically for the booking photograph tied to that sheriff booking, along with enough public booking data to confirm the event.
- Cite KORA and request electronic delivery. Ask for an estimate before costs exceed a stated limit.
- If the image is withheld, request a written denial that cites the legal basis under K.S.A. 45-218.
- Keep the county request separate from any request for a KDOC correctional image.
K.S.A. 45-218 calls for agency action as soon as possible and by the end of the third business day. That is a response deadline, not a promise that every photograph will be produced in three days. A delay response may explain the reason and earliest availability. K.S.A. 45-219 permits a written request, advance payment, and reasonable fees tied to actual furnishing costs such as retrieval, review, and redaction.
Ask for administrative booking information rather than the entire investigative file. K.S.A. 45-221(a)(10) can permit closure of criminal-investigation records under its rules, while public and closed material generally must be separated. Disclosure still is not guaranteed because the facts of the record control.
Ellsworth Correctional Photo Law
Ellsworth’s distinctive photo rule is useful because no local gallery exists. K.S.A. 45-221(a)(29) generally protects identifiable inmate or releasee correctional records, yet subparagraph (A) lists specified information that may be disclosed to people other than another inmate or releasee. The list includes name, photograph and identifiers, sentence data, parole eligibility, custody or supervision level, discipline, supervision violations, non-treatment conditions, and facility or parole-office location, among other defined fields.

The statutory screenshot supports a focused correctional-photo request while preserving separate limits for other protected information.
This state correctional rule does not guarantee that Ellsworth County stores its booking fields in the same way as KDOC. It also does not erase other confidentiality laws. Ask the correct custodian to decide the named record.
Note: A focused request makes it easier to separate a public booking photograph from unrelated investigative or protected case material.
Ellsworth KDOC Mugshot Search
KASPER offers photo and thumbnail search controls and may show a KDOC image on an offender record. Use the official KASPER search, accept its disclaimer, and match the person by more than a name. KDOC number, alias, date of birth, conviction county, sentence, and status help prevent a false match.
The disclaimer warns that the date recorded for a digital image may not be the date the photograph was taken. A current page therefore cannot be labeled as a new mugshot without support. Record the source, the displayed image information, and the access date. Do not imply that the image came from Ellsworth County Jail merely because ECF is in the same city.
KASPER covers KDOC-operated or funded programs. It is not a county-jail booking archive and may have no record for a person whose only event was a short local stay. If the sought image is from the sheriff booking, request that distinct image from the sheriff.
Verify Ellsworth Published Mugshots
News reports and third-party copies can surface an image after release. Use them only as leads. Check whether the publisher identifies the original agency, dates the image, and distinguishes a booking photograph from a press or file photo. Then compare the person’s public identifiers and case details with the official record.
A published image cannot establish that the person left Ellsworth County Jail, entered KDOC, discharged from prison, or remains under supervision. The sheriff release report proves the county event. The court journal entry proves judicial action. KASPER supplies KDOC’s reported state status. Those sources can coexist with an old published photo.
No commercial mugshot, data-broker, aggregator, or pay-to-remove URL should replace an official source. A publisher’s payment or removal policy does not determine the sheriff’s disclosure duty or record retention. No clearly applicable Kansas anti-pay-to-remove statute was confirmed in the research, so a categorical state rule would be unsupported.
Ellsworth Mugshots and Expungement
Expungement is a later court event, not part of ordinary jail release. Under K.S.A. 21-6614, eligibility and waiting periods depend on the matter and commonly run from sentence satisfaction or discharge from probation, community corrections, parole, postrelease, conditional release, or a suspended sentence. Release on bond may occur before there is any conviction or sentence to expunge.
An eligible person must petition, and the court must enter an order. The clerk then routes the order through justice agencies as required. Public portals can change long after custody ended. Juvenile, sealed, expunged, security, and identity facts may affect whether a photograph is produced. A missing image after such a change does not prove no earlier booking happened.

Keep copies of the source label, access date, and agency response.
Retention should not be guessed. No Ellsworth County online retention policy or release-photo archive was found, and the research does not establish how long each sheriff record series is kept.
